JazakumAllah khair,

Ramadan Iftar Drive

Each year the Cal MSA provides Iftar for students on campus. Most students live far from home, and this is one of the main ways students feel the spirit of Ramadan away from home. We ask for your generous donations to sustain the drive. Without your support the MSA would be unable to offer this valuable service.

The Prophet (S) said: "Whoever gives someone something to break the fast with, he would have the same blessings as the fasting person and this would not reduce the blessings of the fasting person in any way." [Ahmad and Tirmidhee]

To donate, please click the button below. May Allah (swt) reward you greatly for your support.

Welcome Back and Ramadan Kareem!

Ramadan Kareem all! Now, I'm sure all of you have been wondering what
the MSA does during Ramadan, as it's a bit of a special month. And the
answer is here now here for all you guys. Be sure to take a look at
the calendar on the left to keep up with timings and rooms.

Every Monday-Thursday, the MSA provides free iftars (post fasting
dinners) at Julie's.  We meet up at MLK on campus to handle Maghrib
(sunset prayer), and then walk over as a big group.  After all that,
we hold Isha prayers on campus followed by night prayers.  Through out
Ramadan we are going to have halaqas (spiritual talks) and sahoors
(meal before sunrise) get togethers.

As we're not eating during Ramadan, after Jumaah (Friday Prayers) we
figure one of the best things we can do is make food for others.  We
gather together on Sproul and make sandwiches for the homeless
in and around Berkeley.  It's a great way to finish off a week
of fasting, and a great way to create a positive image for Muslims and
our MSA.

We hope to see you all throughout this blessed month!

Du'a for studying

Asalaamu 'Alaykum,

Given that finals are beginning soon, we figured everyone could use the du'a for studying so we decided to make them available to everyone through the MSA website. Hope you all find these useful and you all do well on your finals, insha'Allah.
